PRAYER and new **Update** Carrie and Mr. Isaac

Well, this is the first of not sure how many updates I'll do, but just wanted you all to know that Isaac is finally out!!! : ) Carrie is in recovery right now, but I haven't gotten any specifics on Mr. Isaac yet. Nic called to let us know that she was recovering and Issac was in the nursery, but she hasn't even been able to hold him yet, so I will keep you all informed!

I know she's grateful to have had all your support and prayer today! Praise God that we have a healthy mommy and baby!

Okay! As promised. Just got back from the hospital. Carrie was able to get a private room! Woohoo! She is doing great! Looks great and is feeling well. She was able to hold and feed him right away.

He is just as precious as can be! He's got amazing, huge dimples, really dark, velvety hair, and squeaks ALL the time! : )

Alright prayer warriors...we need ya. I've been super busy the last few days and haven't had a chance to post this, however, we have news.
Hannah has RSV. I took her to Dr. Martin yesterday and they did the nose swab and she for sure has it. She was not getting ideal oxygen in her blood either, so they had her come in again today. She's doing better today they said, but she's on an inhaler to help her lungs.
We need prayer for her as well as the whole family. Because she has RSV, this means that the earliest Carrie and/or Isaac can be around her is Sunday. Not the most exciting news ever. Carrie is still in the hospital and will be for a few days, but will then be staying at her parents house until Hannah is no longer contagious. Please pray for patience for them all, that God would keep his hand on all the kids (the ones at home who miss their mommy and Isaac to prevent illness), also that God would strengthen Nic to preserver with taking care of his 3 kids and missing his wife, that Carrie would be able to keep her mind on her new gift and not have a hard time missing her family, that God's Will in this would shine and He would continue protecting their family and filling them each with His perfect love each day.
Thank you all for being a wonderful part of the body of Christ and taking your calling seriously! I know Carrie is grateful for you all and appreciates prayer so much.
I talked with her a bit ago and she's pretty tired. She is feeling better now knowing that Hannah isn't in danger with her oxygen anymore.
Thanks again! If you have questions further you can email me!

Car Seat Question!

Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right? I ordered Isaac's car seat but it isn't going to be in on time. I was wondering if anyone had an infant carrier that I could borrow for about a week????

I leave for the hospital at 3pm tomorrow (Monday) but won't really need it until the 31st. Brooke (who is currently cleaning out my refrigerator...and trust me, it's gag-tastic) said she can take phone calls for me ('cause she's good like that).

Thanks ladies!!!

Carrie

Birthday Cake for Jesus

As promised ladies....The recipe for Jesus' birthday cake. What a fun tradition to start. Let us know if any of you start this Christmas.

BIRTHDAY CAKE FOR JESUS

Jesus’ birthday cake should be round to represent the world. It should be chocolate to show the sins of the world.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Rom. 3:23
The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all of the time. Gen. 6:5

The icing on Jesus’ birthday cake should be white to show Jesus’purity, which covers our sins.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. I Jn. 1:7
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7

An angel can adorn the birthday cake to represent the bearer of the good news of Jesus’ birth.
But the angel said to (the shepherds), “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Lk. 2:10-11

A gold or yellow star on the birthday cake represents the star that led the Magi to Jesus.
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem . . . Magi . . . asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” . . . They went on their way and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. And when they say the star, they were overjoyed. Matt. 2:1-2, 9-10

Twelve red candles on the cake remind us that Jesus’ blood covers us all of the time, twelve months of the year (or use red sprinkles or candies, if this color candle is difficult to find).
And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age. Matt. 28:20

Evergreens can be placed around the birthday cake to represent the everlasting life that Jesus promises to us if we trust in Him as our Savior.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Is. 9:6
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him. Jn. 3:36

Lighting the twelve candles on the cake reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Jn. 8:12

Sing “Happy Birthday to Jesus” and blow out the candles!

***This cake can become a wonderful tradition for your family to remember that Jesus’ birth is the reason we celebrate Christmas. Use some or all of these symbols and change the presentation each year. Some enjoy reading the scriptures given, others read the Christmas story and explain the symbols. Younger children love making and decorating the cake, as well as getting out nativity figurines and reenacting the story complete with sound effects or carols.

Meeting This Tuesday!

Hi Gals!
Just a friendly reminder that we have our last meeting of the year this coming Tuesday!
I personally am looking forward to whatever those of you at Knottsberry Farm (Katie's table) are able to bring! Hope you'll be able to find some peace and relaxation with other moms among this hustle and bustle season!
Our speaker is one FANTASTIC woman! It's Carrie O'Keefe and she's speaking about "Growing Kids God's Way", something I personally got a LOT out of when I took her class a while ago.
Hope you all can make it!

Please Pray **Update**

My friend Suzanne has taken her five month old, Marcus, to Valley Children's. He is suffering from seizures with no indication as to why he's having them. They have ran a myriad of tests, but still can't say what it is. The dad is sick and is unable to be with them at the hospital right now, so Suzanne is basically holding it together on her own. To throw another wrench in, Marcus is adopted, so they do not know if this is something the birth mother or father passed down to him.

She would love knowing a group of moms are praying for her and her son. I'll keep you updated when I find out more!

Thanks, girls!

**Update** Marcus came home on Friday. They are still running tests and sending him to a neurologist and the pediatrician. I'll let you know when I find out more. Thanks again for praying!

Next Christmas Tree Lane Walk

Just a reminder that the next and last Christmas Tree Lane walk is Dec. 10th. I highly suggest it. They had marching bands, firetrucks and Santa! Take a look at my blog to see some pictures....okay they are mainly of my kids, but you can see that they are having fun! Go right at 6pm, not as many people. We got there at 5:30pm and ate at Me-n-Eds slices and headed on out. Go a little early to get a good parking place in Fig Garden. Other places to eat at Fig Garden; Chipotle and Applebees are kid friendly. My blog www.reynoldsfoodforthought.blogspot.com
