Girls Night Out Part 2

Here are a couple of options for the next girls night. Katie would like to go before Emma's surgery, so I was thinking Tuesday Feb. 3rd. I will have been out of town without the kids the weekend before and do not want to leave them again, so I was offering having dessert over at my house. If not, we can wait until the beginning of March and go to Ruths Chris for dessert, or we could do both. What do you think?

****Update***

**Feb. 3rd at Starbucks Riverpark at 8:15pm. Let me know if you can make it!**

Today's MOPS

I really enjoyed the speakers today and the topic. God is funny how he shows you things. I have been wanting to hear about this topic since the beginning of the MOPS year. Today God showed me an example of our topic today. If you missed it, it was on how to navigate the media with your kids. My son is only 3 1/2 but knows that he is not able to watch SpongeBob Square Pants. He came in from playing and I was going to let him finish watching Wow Wow Wubzy for 5 minutes. I was picking up around the house and did not see that it had ended and SpongeBob came on and the second it did Sam said, "Mom, change the T.V." How cool is that! Setting boundaries early on and talking to your children really works, even if you think that they are too young. Just wanted to share. It made me smile that God could show me that today's topic is REALLY important. If you did not make it, we have handouts and it would be great to call someone or your table leader. Have a great day and hope to see many of you tonight!

See the Story

Hey girls, I just wanted to let you know that Youth for Christ is having an informational hour and facility tour on Wednesday, January 21st. They have almost totally redone their facility downtown. It is from 12:15-1:15pm and lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A. You just have to rsvp to let them know (so they have enough food) at 237-4741.

Girls Night....

Does tomorrow (Tuesday) work? If not we can do it next week if this is too soon. I was thinking either Cheesecake Factory or Marie Calendars for pie?? If not, we can just do coffee at Starbucks in Riverpark. Let me know what works for you and we can have a plan later on today.

Update: Tuesday 20th at 8pm at the Cheesecake Factory. Let me know if you are going so we can look for you.

Babysitting Exchange

So I was thinking that all us moms should partner up with another mom in MOPS that has the same number (or close) of kids and exchange babysitting for eachother. If everyone who is interested comments their name and number of kids I will try to pair everyone up with another mom. That way when we need a sitter we can call upon our partner and set up an exchange, so we don't have to pay a sitter. Money's tight for everyone, but quality time with the hubby is essential, so let's help eachother out! Whatcha think?

Jesus' Birthday Celebration!

As promised here is our pic of the Smith Family's celebration of Jesus' birthday...cake and all. The kids were so excited to see cake and candles...they forgot about the other desserts. It was a blast and we will continue this fun tradition every year from here on out. (Lord willing!) Lauren and her friend Gideon had a great time trying to get 12 candles out...with minimal spit. 8>)
1 extra fun tip...we had 21 people at our home so we made it more of an interactive devotional by cutting up the scripture and passed it around for different people to read each passage and explanation for each item being placed on the cake. After that person read their paper, they placed the said item on the cake. Ex. Nicole read about the reason for the candles, read the passage and then placed the candles on the cake. Get it?
** I promise we tried to find red candles. My sweet husband searched two different stores on Christmas Eve and called to say he could only come up with red and white stripped. I told him I thought Jesus would be okay with it this one time and we will continue our search for next year. They look pink in though pic though, huh? Hmph...

Happy New Year!!!!

Hey Ladies, I just wanted to post something for the New Year. Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years. At the Lencioni household we rocked it more like, you can say Grandma and Grandpa, in bed by 10:00pm. I know rock-stars out of control.....Ha Ha Ha. Anywhooo can't wait to see you all tomorrow at MOPS and hear how your Christmas was and if you rocked the New Year like us, living on the edge. Love ya tons, Stacy
