Our speaker on kids and playing talked about a little Veterinary Kit for little kids. I found them for $19.99 at the Tuesday Morning in Clovis Friday. They had about 4 of them.

Small Blessings...

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day
With little time to stop and pray
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called on me to be a mom
Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Getting lids on bottled bugs
Wiping tears and giving hugs
A stack of last week's mail to read
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute, Lord
Just at the sink or ironing board
To ask the blessings of Your grace
I seen then, in my small one's face
That you have blessed me
All the while
And I stop to kiss
That precious smile

Here's somethin' for ya...

Here's a little tidbit of the fun time we're gonna have doing our craft at the next MOPS meeting (which is October 7th, by the way).

One of the labels you'll get to choose for your homemade Febreze:

No Pets Here!!!

We love our pets: (fill in with pet names)

We don’t love their smell.

We prefer this scent: (fill in with scent you chose)

Of course, it looks MUCH cuter with the fonts and font sizes. But anyway, this is one that I'll choose because we all know how much I enjoy my husbands pets...and the by-products (like their smell and their hair) they leave in their wake.

Any suggestions for other smells you'd like to get rid of? I have dirty socks, dirty bedrooms, and plan ol' house smellin' nicer stuff.

Ummm....

Does this look bad?

Well, at least you can all take comfort in the idea that it was my mouth that ate them, and my hips that'll wear 'em!

I'm Having a GIRL!

And yes I have no self-control.  When the ultrasound tech asked if we'd like to know the gender we looked at each other and both said "Yes, please".  I wanted to wait and all that truly matters is that it's a healthy baby.  So, she said "Girl" and I said "Excuse me? What did you say?! are you SURE?"  She checked again and it's for sure!  Absolutely no testicles or other determining boy factors there!  Yikes, I'm just a little bit shocked still and could not wait to tell my wonderful friends at MOPS!  I hope you ladies don't mind me posting this here in the MOPS forum, this is a little off-topic!

Today's Meeting

We had 6 new people today! 29 total! I think it was a great turn out and meeting. The car safety topic always brings lots of questions. I hope all six of the girls will be back! Hopefully child care will run a little smoother next time and that will not discourage anyone new. I am sure Allie did not help by crying, probably sent all the others into a frinzy!

I'm a Dork!

So, I have had this MP3 player since last Christmas and could not get songs to download on it. So, my hubby had one of his past b-ball players come over today after going to City and it took her a total of 30 minutes to do it for me! I feel soooooo old! I am actually listening to it right now and it only took 9 months! Now, I get to make playlists and get it to work on the gyms stereo system. Wish me luck!

Bible Study is Starting!

I just wanted to let you all know (or remind those of you who did know;) that the Thursday Morning Bible Study starts this week. I am so excited because we are going to have an awesome study on Matthew 5 and 6. Denise is always an awesome teacher and the tables are a great place for discussion. Also there will be food! If you liked (or missed it and want to try) my Spinach Sausage Egg Casserole, it is scheduled to make an appearance;).

Study is from 9-11 in the Chapel (the same place we have MOPS). There is child care and food!

So I just made coffee cake

Here's the convo between me and Luke. (have you read my blog? Silly conversations are running rampant at my house lately!)

Luke: What smell? What time is it? (referring to the idea that something smells, so is it lunch time? Yeah...my kids love my cooking.)

Me: It's coffee cake.

Luke: Cake?

Me: Coff-ee cake and you and brother can have some after lunch today.

Luke: Ew, YUCK! I don't like Cough Cake. Cough cake is yucky.

*Sigh*

Anyone want to come over for some coffee cake since my kids aren't going to eat it?

Fall Kick Off

We had one girl sign up and will be at the next MOPS meeting! Her name is Sara and she has a 11 month old. She just started attending New Cov two months ago and she is excited to be a part of our group! Thanks to Katelyn, Becky and Amber for being there. Everyone loved your door hanger that you made Carrie, Thanks for that! Hope everyone and their kids will be well next week.

You know you're a busy mom when...

your child says, "Mommy why did you put water in your hair?"...if only it were water. : ) Do you think I need a shower? I'd post a pic of my lovely "grease-tastic" hair, but haven't downloaded pictures in ages and I am that lazy. : ) Hope you're having a "clean hair" kinda day!

Cricket

A Cricket is a computerized machine that cuts letters from different fonts, pictures ie..Disney. You buy different programs for it and you use it instead of stickets etc... Love it!! But yes, around $400.00. Saw one on a informercial for $350 and it came with a couple of different programs. I told hubby that I wanted one for Christmas and had him watch the infomercial..Ha!. I doubt I will get it though. Jen Garcia has one and I used it once and fell in love with it. Maybe I could get together with her and get a date where she could bring it. Hopefully she will be coming back to MOPS. I will give her a email. I will let you all know.....

Scrapbooking

So, is anyone interested in getting together to scrapbook this month or next? I have tons of pictures to catch up on. I can host a scrapbook night if anyone is interested. Katie Olsen from our group is a creative memories consultant and would probably be more than happy to bring along some of her goodies. I have lots of stuff too. Has anyone heard of or has a Cricket? I want one!! Have a great weekend!

A New Year and A New Recipe

I had so much at MOPs today! I absolutely love the table decorations. You guys did an awesome job with it!

I just checked (and requested) MoonCake that Rhonda mentioned from the library. They have 11 copies of it in the system but not any at the Woodward library. If you request it, it will be sent to the library of your choice.

I have put up the recipe for my Spinach Sausage Egg Casserole over at my food blog.

Today was fun!!!

I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Thank you to all of you for just showing up as well as doing your part to make today happen. And the food was mmmm mmmm good! Can't wait for our next meeting. =) Sure would love the recipes from Jackie & Julie. Talk about some rockin' eggs and that pastry thing. WOW!

Carrie & Katelyn...your tables were so cute. What an awesome job you did. Makes me want to go to those parks now. (Sans kiddos, of course...just me and my honey!)

I hope you all have a great week and thank you again for making MOPS happen. Love to you all!
