Prayer Request for our cousin

Our cousin Heather had a scheduled c-section last week and a few hours ago she had a stroke.  She was rushed to the hospital and is in ICU.  She had some chest pain and shortness of breath from them pushing the baby down her ribcage and had gone to the ER Sunday night but they released her saying she just needed to rest.  She also was experiencing high blood pressure.  This evening her husband ran to the store and when he got back she couldn't speak and was showing signs of a stroke.

They just found bleeding on her brain and they are putting a tube in to drain the pressure.  They are in the process of putting in a breathing tube, heavily sedating her and putting her on a helicopter to San Francisco.

They have a 3 year girl and a 1 week old boy.  Please pray for her.  When I find out more I will let you know.  thank you so much

Updated Thurs at 3:22pm
Heather is now in stable condition.  The bleeding on her brain has stopped.  So far all the tests have been inconclusive as to why she had this stroke and bleeding.  They are doing further tests and I will keep you updated.  Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers.

Updated Friday at 7:52 pm
I don't have much more info except that she is still in San Francisco and all tests so far have been inconclusive.  When asked to say her name, she said numbers and was very upset that she couldn't answer any questions right.  The doctors have said to expect a minimum of 6 weeks before she is able to do anything for herself.  I am waiting for more news in regards to her brain function and recovery.

Updated Sun Nov 30th.
We visited Heather yesterday at a rehabilitation hospital.  She was her bubbly & talkative self but cannot remember so many words.  She can't remember her children's names and forgets their ages.  She's confused and a lot of what she says doesn't make sense.  She will get to return home in a week or two, but will require constant supervision with her children for a few months or until her memory and thought process is restored.  It is now known that she had the stroke because of very high blood pressure.  Please continue to pray for her recovery.  We greatly appreciat your prayers!!!

Free Photo Book -Snapfish

I happened to watch the episode today about de-cluttering your house on the Oprah show. A neat idea that Peter Walsh showed was to scan or take a digital picture of your kids favorite artwork and then put it in a photo album. If you would like and have time the next couple of days you might want to make one of these because you can get it for free, besides the shipping and handling costs.

You go to Oprah.com and then their is a link for your free gift through Snapfish. You have to register with Snapfish and they give you a coupon through your account.

The book is good for 1 standard 20-page 8" x 11"custom cover photo book per household. You must also redeem the coupon- in making the book by Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 11:59 pm PST.

I have never made a photo book but have seen others and they look so neat!

Private Blogs FYI

Just thought I would share that those of us who have set our blogs to 'private' don't come up on your Dashboard when we make new posts.  Unfortunately, you have to actually go to our page to see if we have posted something new.  I wish it were easier!

Also, if anyone wants to be added to my viewer list just let me know.  If I didn't send you an invite it's either because I entered your email address in wrong or I don't know it.  Everyone is welcomed to see my blog who is involved with MOPS.  I just don't want any random weirdos reading about my family and thoughts!

Review

I know you're probably thinking this is totally random for the MOPS blog but you'll see why I am compelled to tell you to shop at the Meat Market in just a moment.  My children came down with the flu Saturday evening.  Sunday and Monday they were symptom-free so Tuesday we were doing many errands one of which was the Meat Market.  At this store one of my children threw up, not just a little, a lot, and it was a really big mess. (I am not exaggerating!)

I just wanted to say that the store employees were concerned, sympathetic and it totally took me by surprise.  The janitor came out to my car twice to check on us and see if we needed anything.  The cashier was very concerned too.  I wanted to thank them for making the situation so much better than it could have been and so I thought why not write a review and tell my friends that this is somewhere I can highly recommend as a mom for more than one reason!  (and after today I know they'll remember us):

I want a big drum set for Christmas!

Sam: Mom, I want a big drum set for Christmas!
Mom: We have to talk to Dad about that.
Dad: Where are his bongo drums?
Mom: I put them in the basement.
Dad: Why?
Mom: To myself (That is a silly question).
Dad: I am going to get them.

What did I hear at 6:30am? I was awoken to a drumming drummer down stairs. I go down stairs.

Sam: Is everyone awake?
Mom: No, there is no drumming until everyone is awake and downstairs.
Sam: Sisi is awake, I hear her.
Mom: No she is not, no drumming, I am going back to bed.
Sam: Aahhh!

20 minutes later.....

Sam: Screaming from downstairs...MMMMOOOOOMMMM the garbage truck is coming and I can't open the door.

NOW EVERYONE IS AWAKE!!! And the drumming goes on.

My Bloggers

Hi all of you. If you have been following my blog, I am shutting it down temporarily. I received a strange post and made me a little freaked out. So, I will keep on posting on yours, but will not post any on mine for awhile. I also took my blog list off of my blog and deleted all posts. Just wanted to give you a heads up if you were wondering.

Runny Noses

Allie woke up cranky with another runny nose. I hope that it is because she is teething and not another cold....so no church again. It seems that during the winter months we only make it 50% of the time. I do not like to take them when they have a runny nose because you never know. Two weeks ago there was a little boy in the nursery with a runny nose and I knew that 3 days later Allie would have a cold and yes she did! Tomorrow they get their flu shots....so looking forward to that!
