Jesus' Birthday Celebration!

As promised here is our pic of the Smith Family's celebration of Jesus' birthday...cake and all. The kids were so excited to see cake and candles...they forgot about the other desserts. It was a blast and we will continue this fun tradition every year from here on out. (Lord willing!) Lauren and her friend Gideon had a great time trying to get 12 candles out...with minimal spit. 8>)
1 extra fun tip...we had 21 people at our home so we made it more of an interactive devotional by cutting up the scripture and passed it around for different people to read each passage and explanation for each item being placed on the cake. After that person read their paper, they placed the said item on the cake. Ex. Nicole read about the reason for the candles, read the passage and then placed the candles on the cake. Get it?
** I promise we tried to find red candles. My sweet husband searched two different stores on Christmas Eve and called to say he could only come up with red and white stripped. I told him I thought Jesus would be okay with it this one time and we will continue our search for next year. They look pink in though pic though, huh? Hmph...

That picture turned out so great! Your hubby is so sweet to have search to store's for the candles. What a wonderful story!

I LOVE IT! Especially the part about the family members participating!

I thought the candles looked like candy canes...and thought 'how appropriate' because of the legend of the candy cane. Just so you know!
